Andrew Ryker, director

Stage director Andrew Ryker is the Artistic Director of Boston Opera Collaborative and a teaching fellow at New England Conservatory. He has directed productions for New England Conservatory, Opera North, Boston Opera Collaborative, and Intermezzo Chamber Opera Series. Andrew previously served on the faculty at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Illinois Central College and recently gave a masterclass at Boston Arts Academy. A versatile vocalist, Andrew has been heard with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, College Light Opera Company, Overture Productions, New England Conservatory Opera Theatre, Trinity Church, and La Musica Lirica of Italy in addition to recital appearances in the United States and Europe. He received his master's degree from New England Conservatory and was the recipient of the Goldovsky Directing Internship at the Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta. Andrew's production of Curlew River was named Boston's "Best Staged Opera" of 2006 by Lloyd Schwartz of the Boston Phoenix. Andrew's next project is the world premiere of A Last Goodbye for Intermezzo Chamber Opera.
