Christina Calamaio, mezzo-soprano

Mezzo Soprano Christina Calamaio was a recent NATS competition winner in Boston and a semi-finalist in the Classical Singer Audition Corps vocal competition. This past winter she performed the role of 2nd woman in Weston Opera Fest’s Dido and Aneas. Past roles include Octavian in Lowell House Opera’s Der Rosenkavalier, Mother Jeanne in Boston Opera Collaborative’s Dialogue of the Carmelites, Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos with Opera in the Ozarks, Sally in Hand of Bridge at New England Conservatory of Music and Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors at the University of Tulsa. This past year Christina also performed in the ensemble at Boston Lyric Opera. Upcoming roles include 3rd Lady in The Magic Flute with Boston Opera Collaborative, Tisbe in La Cenerentola with Opera del West and Suor Zelatrice in Suor Angelica with Boston Opera Collaborative. Ms. Calamaio holds a master’s degree from New England Conservatory.
