Nicholas Hebert, tenor

Nicholas Hebert is a young tenor hailing from Albany, NY and is thrilled to be one of BOC’s newest members. He was last seen as Don Basilio in their summer production of "The Marriage of Figaro," and in their enchanting yet provocative production of Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” as Mr. Erlanson. Since moving to Boston, Nick has also performed the role of Monostatos in "The Magic Flute" with MetroWest Opera.

A recent graduate of Vassar College in May 2009, Nicholas received his B.A. in Biology while studying voice with mezzo-soprano Mary Nessinger and performing under the direction of renowned countertenor, Drew Minter, in yearly workshops and performances of opera scenes. Roles include the Count in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Narciso in Il turco in Italia, First Sailor in Dido and Aeneas, Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette and Snout, The Wall, in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He reprised his performance of the Count at the Vassar College Department of Music “Music from Vassar” concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC. Nicholas has also had the honor of performing Lensky’s Aria, “Kuda, kuda...” from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin with the Vassar College Orchestra as a winner of their annual solo competition.

He has performed in master classes with notable Broadway singer/actress Kelli O’Hara, and composer Ricky Ian Gordon. Nicholas currently studies with James Demler.
