Olga Lisovskaya, coloratura soprano, is a native of Kiev, Ukraine. In 2009 Ms.Lisovskaya
made multiple company debuts: she sang Norina, Adele and Madame Goldentrill in scenes
with Longwood Opera, Worcester Opera and New England Light Opera as well as the role of
Consuelo in Riverside Theater Works’ production of West Side Story. Recently, Ms.
Lisovskaya sang the role of Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel and Gretel with Opera New
Hampshire’s Outreach Program and the role of Lucy in Menotti’s Telephone in the Museum of
Modern Renaissance concert series (Somerville). Ms. Lisovskaya has also performed with
Lakes Region Opera Company, Opera Providence and MassTheatrica. Upcoming in 2010 is
the role of Serpina in Vocal Arts’ Studio production of La Serva Padrona.
In addition to opera and concert, Olga enjoys performing oratorio. This Christmas she sang soprano solo in Handel’s Messiah with Masterworks Chorale. In June of 2009 she
sang a solo recital of sacred music in Boston, MA. In December of 2008 Ms. Lisovskaya
performed as a soprano soloist in Haendel's Messiah with the Atlantic Union Conservatory
Orchestra. She had the privilege of singing the role of Mary in the world premiere of
Leonardo Ciampa’s cantata The Annunciation in 2007.
As concert singer, Ms. Lisovskaya frequently sings solo recitals with repertoire ranging
from early music to classical song repertoire, to operetta programs, Soviet film music,
Ukrainian and Russian music. Upcoming is a concert with “Quartetto Spirituoso” string quartet. This fall Olga premiered Leonardo Ciampa’s “Canzone Dantesche” at Dante Alighieri Society in Cambridge. She also sang on Peter Freisinger
Chamber Orchestra concert at the Old South Church this November.
Ms. Lisovskaya has been a regional winner in the NATS competition, finalist in the Capital
Region Opera Idol Competition, winner of the Middlebury College Concerto Competition,
finalist in the Connecticut Opera Guild Young Artist Scholarship Competition, and a
participant in the Donizetti Music Festival in Italy.
Ms. Lisovskaya received her B.A. with honors in International Politics and Economics (music
and French minor) from Middlebury College. In addition to her B.A. degree, Ms. Lisovskaya
holds a certificate from Ecole Normale de Musique d’Alfred Cortot in Paris, France and an
excellence diploma in piano from Kiev Youth Music School.
