Boston Opera Collaborative is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to providing opportunities for emerging artists — including singers, directors, conductors, and theater technicians — to bridge the gap between higher education and a career in the arts.
Members of Boston Opera Collaborative share in the management of the organization, developing their own skills as artists and administrators through productions and professional development.
Boston Opera Collaborative will inaugurate its fifth anniversary season this fall with Mark Adamo's contemporary opera Little Women, based on the cherished novel by Massachusetts' own Louisa May Alcott. The company will welcome 2011 with a winter production of The Cunning Little Vixen, by Czech composer Leos Janacek. Spring will see BOC partner with Juventas New Music Ensemble on a newly commissioned chamber opera by Isaac Schankler. The season will conclude in summer 2011 with Verdi's comic masterpiece, Falstaff.
